The STI versions of the Subaru Impreza are famous and notorious: They dominated in the 90 years the World Rally Championship. To commemorate the successes Subaru launched in 1997 a special model series called “Impreza 22B” – limited to 424 vehicles. In addition, the Japanese built three prototypes of the series “000/400”. The cars are legendary today – the more spectacular it is that one of the vehicles is now for sale! A well-known car dealer from Hong Kong offers the super-rare model on his Facebook page . The exceptional Impreza shines in a unique blue tone, has golden rimsand has the flared fenders from the former WRC car. Switching is manual over five gears. Under the bonnet slumbers a four-cylinder boxer engine with 2.2 liters displacement. Performance: officially 280 hp and a maximum torque of 363 Nm. The acceleration of the compact racing Japanese is enormous: From the stand he breaks the 100 km / h mark in about 4.2 seconds, at pace 240 is over. An almost 1.3 tons light bullet on golden wheels!
The clou, however, is the mileage of the prototype. According to dealers, the 22B has so far been moved only 55 kilometers. This is unbelievably little and thus another reason to buy for collectors. In March 2017, the auction house Bonhams last auctioned a prototype of the STI series in rally execution – then for the equivalent of 131,594 euros . The now offered Impreza is there clearly inconspicuous, without neon yellow vinyl on the paint . The providers of “Contempo Concept ” call no fixed price. But it can be assumed that this prototype surpasses the Bonham mark!
