2021 Volkswagen Golf R Without Camouflage

Volkswagen already unveiled the next-generation Golf GTI in March (as well as the Golf GTD and Golf GTE), while the new Golf R was due to be promoted in July at the Goodwood Speed Festival.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed has meanwhile been canceled so the new Golf R will have its premiere at another event (probably online).

Either way, the new Golf R has now been re-shot, and without a mask.

According to some sources, it will be powered by a 2.0-liter turbo gasoline that will have 245 kW / 333 hp, paired with a dual-clutch transmission.
The package will also include all-wheel drive, larger alloy wheels, aero body kit (front spoiler, sills, rear diffuser, rear roof spoiler …), modified suspension, sports exhaust system, stronger braking system, as well as sports seats and steering wheel.

Like other versions, the Golf R will get a new infotainment system with a touch screen, head-up display, digital instrument panel, “Travel Assist” system for semi-autonomous driving, as well as the Car2X system that allows the new Golf to communicate and exchange information with the environment.

German media estimate that the new Golf R in the base version will cost less than 50,000 euros, and it will probably go on sale at the end of this year.
