German tuner AC Schnitzer with some custom innovations has further optimized the most advanced sports car of our time, the BMW i8. The new tuning program features carbon aerodynamic accessories and a special red chrome livery.
With 25 mm lowering at the front and 20 mm at the rear, the AC Schnitzer enhances car’s stability in all cornering situations, but at the same time gives a sportier look of the plug-in hybrid sports car.
The Aachen-based tuning specialist has also outfitted the car’s exterior with contrasting carbon fiber elements. The list of upgrades include a new distinctive carbon front splitter, air outlets at front and rear, side skirts, winglets, Racing rear wing and three-piece diffuser. Besides, they further emphasize the sporting attributes, the aerodynamic components contribute to better handling, downforce and pressure distribution.
Further customization includes carbon door handles and side mirrors, the newly restyled BMW kidney grille, AC Schnitzer logos (160 mm) on left and right, and the special Inferno Red Chrome livery. All are crafted from the lightweight woven material.
A set of lightweight (save a good 4.4 kg in weight) 21-inch, AC1 forged alloy wheels in bicolor or anthracite, specially designed for this sports car, rounds off the customization.
The upgraded plug-in hybrid BMW i8 will be displayed at the upcoming Geneva International Motor Show.
